Rebecca is an avid ultra runner, and has a passionate heart for health, nutrition and exercise. She has run over thirty 1/2 marathons, twelve full marathons, five 50k’s and three 50 milers. She just completed her first 100 Miler October 2018. Her experience racing and working with other runners, has lead her to uncover what works and what doesn’t work for runners of all speeds and distances. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Communications and then decided to follow her true passion and focus on nutrition. After obtaining a certificate in Plant-Based Nutrition with Colin Campbell Foundation and eCornell, Rebecca wanted to expanded her knowledge and obtained a Clinical Nutrition Certificate from the Natural Healing Institute in Encinitas, CA. She then decided to continue her journey at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition in New York. Here she received her training as a Holistic Health Counselor and founded Nutritiously Balanced.
During her training she studied over 100 dietary theories, practical lifestyle management techniques, and innovated coaching methods with some of the world’s top health and wellness experts. A few of her teachers included Dr. Andrew Weil, Director of the Arizona Center for Integrative Medicine; Dr. Deepak Chopra, leader in the field of mind and body medicine; Dr. David Katz, Director of Yale University’s Prevention Research Center; Dr. Walter Willett, Chair of Nutrition at Harvard University; Geneen Roth, bestselling author and expert on emotional eating; and many other leading researchers and nutrition authorities.
Rebecca’s education has equipped her with extensive knowledge in holistic nutrition, health counseling, preventive health and sports nutrition. Drawing on these skills and her knowledge of different dietary theories, she works with clients to help them make lifestyle changes, in life and in running, that generate real and lasting results.
